Studium Privacy Policy

Overview

Studium is a local-first note-taking app. Your notes, recordings, photos, and derived text remain on your device unless you explicitly choose to export, back up, or share them.

Data Collection

Studium does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All processing is performed on-device.

Data Accessed Locally

• Microphone audio: Recorded only when you start a voice note recording. Audio files stay on-device and are never uploaded.
• Camera: Used only when you take a photo to attach to a note. Images stay on-device.
• Photos Library: Accessed only when you choose to import a photo. No library metadata is collected or transmitted.
• Speech Recognition: Transcriptions require the iPad's on-device speech recognizer. If on-device recognition is unavailable for the current language or device, Studium saves the recording and does not create a transcript. No audio or text is sent to remote servers.
• Calendar: Write-only access is requested only when you confirm an event suggestion. Studium never reads your calendar events.

No Third-Party Services

Studium does not integrate any analytics SDKs, crash reporting frameworks, advertising networks, or third-party data processors. There is no tracking or data sharing.

Data Retention

You control your data through the in-app Settings:

• Recordings: Keep or auto-delete based on retention duration.
• Transcripts: Preserve or remove derived text independently.
• OCR text: Preserve or remove recognized text from ink and photos.
• Delete all: Remove all notes and associated media files from device storage.

Children's Privacy

Studium does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

Updates to this policy will be reflected in the app's next release. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
